The house was built by architect Kendric bangs Kellog in the desert of Joshua Tree for Beverly Dolittle and her husband Jay. The work on the house began in 1988 and was completed in 1993. The construction is done using concrete, glass, steel and copper as the primary materials. Interior designer John Vugrin spent a few years tweaking the interiors.
The house has an organic design that merges with the rocky landscape, from a distance the house looks like a rib cage of a dead animal among rocks. The interior is edgy but i don't seem to like it much, it looks chaotic and a bit out of place. People didn't really knew about the existence of this house, until it was put for sale recently by the couple.
