PIGEONS DYED IN BRIGHT COLORS LOOK LIKE EXOTIC BIRDS

Pigeons were dyed in various hues by Berlin based artist duo Julian Charriere and Julius Von Bismarck for the art project 'Some pigeons are more equal than others'. The colored pigeons were set free to mingle with the normal grey pigeon population on the streets of Venice. Pigeons are often considered a nuisance in the urban setting and the artist here tries to make them look more exotic with the intention of changing the perception towards these birds. The artists used a specially created device to paint the pigeons without harming them.
