HILLS OF MUNNAR IN KERALA TURNS BLUE ONCE IN EVERY 12 YEARS WHEN NEELAKURINJI FLOWER BLOOMS

Neelakurinji (Strobilanthes kunthiana) is a blue colored flower that grows on the hills of Munnar in kerala, India. The flower blooming cycle is of 12 years often turning the hills blue in color. The flowers once used to cover the mountains of Neelagiri from which the mountain derived its name, neela means blue.
